Dancers are responsible for their own dance shoes. Your instructor will notify you what shoes are required for your class. You will also receive a note clarifying hair/makeup/shoes when costumes are handed out.
If any extra props/accessories are required for your dancers' class, you will be notified by the studio/instructor directly.
We understand that makeup can be a touchy subject. Makeup is used in dance & theatre in order to give the performer's face a defined shape, ensuring that facial expressions are viewable from a distance. This way, you will be able to see your performers' smiling face clearly from the audience.
Because our spring recital is on a professional stage with theater lights, we highly recommend the use of makeup on all of our performers.
At the end of the day, you know your performer best, and how much (or how little) they will be able to tolerate on their face. Please feel free to reach out directly with any makeup questions you have. We want the recital experience to be as positive and enriching as possible for all of our performers and their families.
Yes, we will have a mandatory dress rehearsal. This is a great opportunity for dancers/tumblers (especially our youngest performers) to become familiar with the stage as well as allow our dance parents to be familiar with the venue and what to expect for the big show.
Dress rehearsal dates & call times are in your recital info packet. Please email the studio if you have any questions.
